The A-91 is a Russian made bullpup assault rifle developed by Instrument Design Bureau in 1990. It fires the 7.62x39mm (A-91 and A-91M) or 5.56x45mm NATO (5.56A-91), depending on the model. There is also a special version chambered in the 5.45x39mm M74 and PSP (underwater) called the ADS.
Its magazine holds 30 rounds, and it fires about 700 rounds per minute. It features an optional 40mm GP-95 grenade launcher mounted below the barrel. The A-91 also features a forward case ejection like the Belgian F2000.
The A-91 is a weapon featured in Battlefield 3 as the Non-Grenade Launcher variant.
The A-91 has a good rate of fire and the lowest spread amongst the carbines (along with the QBZ-95B) while hipfiring. However, it suffers from the heaviest and most unpredictable horizontal recoils of any carbine in the game, making it less accurate during continuous sustained fire, especially at longer ranges.
The A-91 is a weapon featured in Battlefield 4. It functions very similarly to its BF3 counterpart.
Outside of Molina's outpost is a cluster of a blue building and smaller white building. From the roof of the blue building to the white building, a jump must be made. The A-91 rests on the northeast corner of the building. It is equipped with a PKA-S, Magnifier, Compensator and Ergo Grip. It sports an Atomic Woodland finish.
The A-91 is an unlockable Carbine. It's high rate of fire lends itself to high stacked recoil forces, and it's high left and right recoil values make it somewhat unpredictable. It is, however, still reasonably accurate fired in short bursts and the relative recoil, as with most weapons, is negligible at the fairly close ranges the weapon is expected to perform in.
- In spite of Battlelog's description, the A-91 can equip a foregrip.
- Originally, it was one of two weapons (the other being the M26 MASS) that didn't have Proficiency and Master Dog Tags associated with it. This issue was fixed with the March 2012 patch for Battlefield 3.
- In Battlefield 4, the A-91 shares the same reload animations as the F2000 from Battlefield 3.
