The Akrep in real life.

The Akrep (English: Scorpion) is a light armored mine-resistant vehicle produced by Otokar of Turkey. It is based upon the American Land Rover Defender chassis and was introduced in 1990 for the Turkish Army. The vehicle is much like a smaller cousin to the Cobra, also produced by Otokar.

It is armed with 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun in a remote weapon station, although it can also use a ring-mounted system like on many other light reconnaissance vehicles. Due to the vehicle's V-shaped hull design, it is very resistant to roadside bombs and anti-tank mines, with the vehicle only being disabled by one rather than completely destroyed.

Middle Eastern Coalition

In Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, the Akrep supplants the role of the Vodnik of Battlefield 2 for the Middle Eastern Coalition. It performs similarly to the EU Eagle M.T.V as well as the USMC HMMWV, but is much shorter than either vehicle, meaning its side profile is a harder target to hit. However, this also makes the vehicle top-heavy, allowing it to roll over easier. It is armed with a KORD in a secondary gunner position with a 360 degree field of view, while the third passenger cannot use their weapons.
