Hardline's creative director, Ian Milham, has revealed that Visceral would like to continue developing games in the Battlefield series if Battlefield Hardline is a success.
"There's a lot more gold in those hills in terms of the thematic possibilities and all the stuff we could do," Milham explained to VideoGamer.com earlier this week, "and just now having seen what people are responding to and what we've made and what its strengths are, I think any developer would usually love a chance to double down on something successful and take the best bits and add more good on that and create something more. So yeah, I think we would [like to do more]."

Many games now a days are criticized for being developed and released with only a faction of the content available; the rest being set aside with a price tag to be bought later as a piece of DLC. The game Evolve is one such target of criticism and with the announcement of Battlefield Premium for Battlefield Hardline, many started targeting Visceral with claims that the developer was holding back content from the main game so that they could sell it later as DLC.
The lead multiplayer designer Thad Sasser, however, quickly put these accusations to rest. The fact is, none of the announced DLC is actually even developed yet. "I don't know how it could be included in the full game because it's not built yet. So that would be a real magic trick for…Read more >
Even with Hardline on the imminent horizon next week, Battlefield 4 is still getting some love over on the Community Test Environment. The CTE has had a couple of notable patches recently and some more updates on the Community Map Project have also been announced.
First up, two more maps have been added to the Night Map Project: Golmud Railway and Zavod 311. Both maps are currently in their first lighting pass as night maps, and as of yet have no new names like Infiltration of Shanghai does. Like Shanghai, both have significantly reduced visibility and the majority of the light sources on the maps are destructible, so summon your inner Sam Fisher and prepare to shoot out some lightbulbs. To make them more useful on the night maps, the Thermal O…Read more >

Alongside a newly released episode guide to Battlefield Hardline's singleplayer, Creative Director Ian Milham also addressed other aspects to Hardline singleplayer as well. One, which doesn't come as much of a surprise, is that the game will feature several easter eggs about Visceral's Dead Space franchise. Milham said that their are "So many. Some obvious, some deep" when asked during a live Q&A session on Twitter regarding Dead Space easter eggs. May want to keep your eyes pealed for mysteriously placed helmets and work benches.

Its been 9 years today that the Battlefield Wiki was created back on February 22, 2006 as the Battlefield Series Wiki by Ark93. The Wiki has grown exponentially since its inception almost a decade ago and there's more to come with Battlefield Hardline, Battlefield 4, and even a new game set to release in 2016.
This Wiki has only survived here this long because of editors and their love to spread the word about a franchise they love and write down important information about it. Before the BF Wiki, there were not that many sites that gave exceptional details on installments from Battlefield 1942 to Battlefield 2142. We changed that. A huge contributor to this is Bondpedia who joined the Wiki almost two years after its inception and became the founder…Read more >
DICE LA have recently provided some more information on the Community Map Project revealed yesterday. Namely, the studio has released their outline for the project as well as its "roadmap" through the CTE Subreddit.
The outline of the project states that the new map will:
- Be built from the ground up and guided by community feedback.
- Have new versions continuously published on the CTE for play testing.
- Be medium sized (about the size of Zavod 311).
- Focus primarily on Conquest.
- Maximize on gameplay destruction throughout the map, no Levolution set-pieces are planned.
- Should be inspired by a real location and have a reason for conflict.
Obviously, since the project just started, it is currently in its Concept phase and there is no map to try yet. The…Read more >
DICE has released a video detailing a new upcoming map for Battlefield 4. Unlike past maps, however, its development is being directly influenced by the players. As the video describes, it will be added into the Community Test Environment next month in the Winter 2015 patch. In my own words, it involves DICE and players following the "Cradle-to-the-Grave" concept which is developing the map together from start to finish.
Along with this new map, other maps are expected to be added along with it as DICE had posted a massive survey on their website detailing which maps from past installments players would like to see reimagined in Battlefield 4.

Over the past few months, DICE had made numerous references to the mythological Giant Squid known as the Kraken in a manner similar to the Megalodon Easter Egg that was discovered a few months ago. As it turns out, there actually is ..... er was a Kraken Easter Egg on Paracel Storm according to DICE. To unlock it, it would have involved players climbing specific palm trees while holding certain items, before bolts of lighting struck the ocean, followed by a UFO invasion that would have heralded the arrival of the Kraken. DICE, however, has announced the removeal of the event as it "just didn't have the resources to finish implementing the cataclysmic map event". EA has announced that Battlefield Hardline will be released a few days early first for those on Xbox One for those who subscribe to EA Access, a $5/month subscription service that offers benefits such as discounts and free games. Free games on EA Access include Battlefield 4, Madden NFL 25, and Peggle 2. Customers have unlimited ownership of these titles for as long as their membership lasts. EA originally wanted the service to appear on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but Sony rejected the membership deal.

As promised, Visceral has announced details reguarding the Battlefield Hardline beta.
- Open Beta - Available for all platforms (Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PC)
- Features Hotwire and Conquest gamemodes
- No Cap on progression level - Players can technically rank up to the max rank of 150 and unlock all weapons for the beta.
- Stats DO NOT carry over to the actual game.
The only thing missing from these details is the actual open beta release date. Unfortuately, Visceral did not provide a date due to wanting to make everything working in good order and not promising a release date they cannot meet. Fear not as they did hint, however, that it would be "sooner than you think".

It has been revealed that Battlefield 4's Premium Calender, which originally ended in October 2014, has been extended to December 2015. The question is, what could this new content be?

No other specifics were provided, but this release supports the recent predictions of the analysts, who said EA may wait until 2016 for the next installment. This would not only avoid franchise fatigue, the analysts said, but also clear space for Star Wars: Battlefront in 2015.

Analysts at Stern Agee believe EA will push back the release of Battlefield 5 to 2016. The wording is a little strange, since EA hasn't made any official announcement about Battlefield 5.
The firm gives three reasons for this belief. First, EA may want to avoid franchise fatigue. Battlefield Hardline, the cops and robbers spinoff, is out in March 2015.
Second, EA is apparently feeling very confident about the release of its other shooter, Star Wars Battlefront. A year and a half ago, EA said it was targeting a Summer 2015 release for Battlefront. It is unclear whether or not that is st…

So first lets review the patch. First right off the bat I give this patch a 7/10. I play BF4 on the Xbox one. Theres alot the patch changed but I'm only going to talk about the things I didn't like
So the main reason Its not a 10/10 is because of weapon balanced.
1. Slow firing weapons still dont have high damage or range compared to high RPM weapons, PDW's are still being out damaged upclose, SR338 is still useless and the shotguns hipfire still sucks. Then correct me if im wrong bf4 still has ADS accuracy delay coming out of sprint. so because of this I took away 2
2. I still am getting killed around corner, still experiencing trade kills, bad hit detection and rubber banding albeit its less common since the patch. I took away 1 for this.

According to Battlefield Hardline creative director Ian Milham, the game may carry the "Battlefield" name but its cops-and-robbers approach is different enough from the "core" Battlefield formula that fans will continue to play the game even after its follow-up is released.
