Sniper rifles are weapons designed to be used at extreme ranges where other weapons would be impractical. Firing a large calibre bullet for maxmum damage, range, and drag resistance snipers are best used when out of the range of other weapons. Sniper rifles are one of the few weapons capable of killing in one shot and can do so at extreme ranges if a headshot is achieved. Their are semi-automatic sniper rifles and bolt-action sniper riffles. Semi-automatic generally have significantly less range and damage but make up by being able to make shots much quicker. Bolt-action snipers are capable of one shot kills in close quarters and a one shot kill at any range if it is a headshot. Bolt-actions are generally much more effective at extreme ranges due to their higher velocity, lower drop, and higher damage than their semi-automatic counterparts.
