A Czech hedgehog is a static anti-tank obstacle defense barrier made of angled iron. The hedgehog primary function is by blocking paths for tanks from breaching through the line of defense.
Hedgehogs in Battlefield Heroes function as anti-vehicle obstacles that block land vehicles from access from certain angles. Some vehicles such as Jeeps may take some damage if crashing against them at full speed.
In Battlefield 1943, the anti-vehicle obstacle appears on the beaches and shores of all maps except for Coral Sea and instantly stops vehicles when contacted. Its main purpose is to slow down the incoming LCVP. They take no damage and maintain shape and function when attacked.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 features hedgehogs which instantly stop any land vehicle if contact is made, regardless of force and speed. Light vehicles might take moderate damage once crashing against it if driving at full speed. The map Atacama Desert features numerous hedgehogs around the beach. The Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam expansion also feature hedgehogs which function in a similar manner to the base game. It maintains it shape and function from high explosives, such as TNT and directs hit from Tank shell
