"The DysTek Pulse Meter is a short- to medium-range detection device that allows soldiers to scan for enemies behind cover using sonic differentiation and acoustic analysis to identify and track human heart rhythms in the immediate vicinity."
— Prima Official Game Guide
The DysTek Pulse Meter is a gadget featured in Battlefield 2142. It is available to the Support kit after unlocking the IPS Shield and Advanced Ammo Hub.
The Pulse Meter detects the heartbeat of enemy infantry, even when inside vehicles. The gadget must cool down after each use.
Located enemies are 3D-spotted in the player's NetBat Helmet as well as their squadmates'. Other team members do not benefit from the detections.
The red diamond indicators do not track their targets, unlike regular spotting; the user must anticipate the target's possible movement. The indicators disappear after a few seconds. A similar function is provided by the RD-4 Otus squad leader drone.
