Infantry in a cover less top Opel Blitz.
The Opel Blitz (English: Lightning) was a series of light and medium weight trucks produced by the German automobile manufacturer Opel from 1930 to 1976. The Blitz was the standard transport truck of the Wehrmacht during World War II, and between 1935 and 1944 more than 130,000 vehicles and chassis were built.
Battlefield V[]
The Opel Blitz, named simply in gameplay as Truck, is featured in Battlefield V, first seen in the Battlefield 5 Official Reveal Trailer.
Singleplayer[]
In the singleplayer, they are used by both Axis and Allied troops as their main transport vehicle. They can be seen transporting British and French troops in cutscenes of the My Country Calling and Tirailleur War Stories, respectively. During gameplay, they are frequently used by enemy German forces particularly in the delivery of alarm-triggered reinforcements, with a maximum capacity of five including the driver. Neutral trucks can also be found and driven by the player.
Combined Arms[]
In Combined Arms, they are used to offload German troops in scripted sequences in certain missions. An Opel Blitz drivable by the player can be found in the Riverside Guns mission, but can only seat one.
Multiplayer[]
The Opel Blitz appears frequently as an unusable static map object, being present on all multiplayer maps except Fjell 652 and Solomon Islands. Unlike other ambient vehicles it is not completely crushed when destroyed with explosives or is rammed by a tank, although its tyres can be popped with gunfire to reduce its ride height and thus provide better cover.
A unique variant of the Opel Blitz appears across Halvøy in the Firestorm gamemode, being dark blue and marked with the Sulis logo, although like in standard Multiplayer there are no drivable versions of the vehicle in this mode.
