The Alternate Weapon Package is a Specialization in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for various vehicles:

• The M1A2 Abrams and T-90 Main Battle Tanks gain a Coaxial Machine Gun as a secondary weapon for the driver.

• The M3A3 Bradley and BMD-3 Infantry Fighting Vehicles gain a wire-guided missile as an alternate weapon for the driver.

• The AH-64 Apache and Mi-28 Havoc Attack Helicopters gain a Tracer Dart-guided missile. The gunner can fire a Tracer Dart, and the pilot's missile will home onto any target designated with a Tracer Dart.

• The UAV-1 gains a machine gun in addition to its missile strike.

This is an active specialization, meaning it can only be used by the driver (except in the case of attack helicopters, as previously described) of the vehicle, and it must be activated by user input to function. It does not function on armored cars, naval vessels, or Quad Bikes as none of them have driver-mounted weapons.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam

V-Flame

The specialization is referred to as the V-Flame in the Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam expansion. It only provides a benefit on the MBTs, the M48 Patton and the T-54. In these vehicles it provides a flamethrower attachment on to the tank's main cannon. This specialization is useful for counter-infantry, anti-foliage and light vehicle combat.

The tank-mounted flamethrower reaches five meters further than the handheld M2-2 Flamethrower, 20 meters total. The flame projectiles from both weapons travel at the same rate (50 m/s)—the tank's projectiles last 0.1 second longer.

The maximum range that an enemy can be for the V-flame to hit at 20m.
