"The night guards are surprisingly absent at the Turing Natural History Museum. Were they tipped off? Bribed? Regardless of why they disappeared, the Turing’s legendary Blue Diamond is sitting unprotected – a tantalizing target for daring jewel thieves. How will they break in and make off with this priceless artifact? Have their ranks been infiltrated and their plan uncovered by the police?"

Trivia[]

  • The ambient music playing in the Egyptian hall of the museum (around the temple) is "Hidden Beauty" by the group "Two Steps from Hell".[1]
  • The museum is heavily modeled on the London Natural History Museum, although the Egyptian temple inside the Egyptian room is based on the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, which similarly has a genuine Egyptian temple inside it that one can walk inside and through.[2]
  • The promotional image was slowly released in segments on the official Battlefield Twitter weeks before the full reveal at Gamescom.
  • Information stations found around the map can be interacted with, and doing so will play a recording describing "information" about the exhibits. These recordings are often jokes that reference other works, such as describing the Super Mario character Yoshi as a dinosaur.[3]
  • One randomly chosen bust present on the map can be interacted with. Doing so reveals a button, which changes the recording in all information stations when pressed. The new recordings are made by the character Neebs from the animation series Battlefield Friends.[3]
  • The dinosaur fossil exhibits are references to dinosaur easter eggs featured throughout the Battlefield series.
  • In the game files this map is named xp2_museum02.
