Northern Mountain Pass was a map cut from Battlefield 2142 in its early stages of development.
The map was originally set to take place on a planet other than Earth, pitting the United States of America against the Pan-Asian Coalition, as evidenced by the European Union soldier textures in the game files of Battlefield 2142 being labeled as US soldiers. The concept art comes from the EA forums, but due to a hacking issue, the image - along with other concept art images for the game - was nearly lost and is now a very rare find.
The above concept art is also referenced in Battlefield 2: Armored Fury, depicted on a magazine inside the Trailer Truck.
