Hi guys! I have something to propose.
It is called the No Opinions policy.
Basically, personal opinions on articles will not be allowed such as "The best attachments for this gun are ....." or "This is the best map in the game..." or such. I believe it makes the wiki look like a joke and improfessional.
This means that we need people to go around and change the articles that have opinions in them.
"Write from an impersonal perspective. Do not use 'I'. Completely avoid drawing attention to the author (yourself). Do not use the impersonal 'you', either, which refers to the reader or player. When writing tips, say 'the player should' instead of 'you should'.
"
— BF Wiki MoS section 1
"Maintain article neutrality. All pages should be from a neutral point of view. Avoid pointless adjectives that insert personal bias into an article and do not definitively say that something such as a weapon is relatively good or bad unless it can be statistically proven."
You have a very good point and it is worth mentioning. Some of the pages I have edited for BFP4F, like the G3 were done as such that the game is F2P and people may not want to buy a new weapon, so I felt letting them know which attachments are the most effective was appropriate for the baseline gun. But we do have to keep it impersonal as per policy. I could adjust the Cleanup template to adjust based on a reason and then we can use it to mark pages that need to be fixed for this manner.
As a side note, I have been trying to fix something on the main page... has anyone else not been able to see the main page slider that has our severely outdated featured content and such? I'm using Chrome 20 (the latest version) and have about a thousand ad blockers, but even with them off, it doesn't show up... Thought it could be something on Wikia's end or maybe it's just me and I can't figure it out.PresidentEden78 19:37, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
EDIT: Scratch that, apparently was an adblocker. Now I gotta figure out which one... PresidentEden78 19:40, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
