"China’s rich mining areas in the northeastern highland have become contested by rapidly deploying American and Chinese forces. The narrow canyons carved into this region channel both forces into inevitable head-on confrontations as each seeks to secure the prized uranium mines with their advancing forces. In the context of this double assault, success will favor the bold, given the constrained nature of this rugged battlefield."

FuShe Pass is a map featured in Battlefield 2. It is an engagement between the United States Marine Corps and the People's Liberation Army in north-east China.

Overview[]

The map is set in a mountain range divided into north and south by a river running through the middle. While armor is provided on all sizes, their use is severely limited by the terrain, and light vehicles can be used to get around the map quickly.

Trivia[]

  • The localization files indicate that FuShe pass was originally to be called "Glowing Pass". This is given a nod in its current name, as FuShe is the romanization of Chinese word "radiation" (Chinese: 辐射; pinyin: Fúshè). The official map name is likely a hidden code name created by DICE that indicates the background of the map story which "glowing pass" refers to the presence of uranium in the mining pass.
  • On the loading screen, the preview for the 32 sized map is shown with boundaries just behind the Power Plant (US Base). In addition, the first bridge to the east of the Power Plant, the outpost to the east of the East Mine Entrance (the Mountain Lookout in the 64 version), and the mountain range to the south of the Security Headquarters, as well as the mountain range to the northwest of the Upper Camp (PLA Base), are all shown as inaccessible. In the actual game, all of the above locations are accessible. This makes the 32 version contain locations that are inaccessible in the 64 version.
  • This map was seen in the Launch Trailer for Battlefield Play4Free but was never added to the game.[1]
