The Heavy Assault is a kit uniquely featured in Battlefield Vietnam. It is an anti-tank and heavy weapons kit, and is in effect a more niched version of the basic assault.

The US Army, Marine Corps, and ARVN all have the same loadouts as one another. They roughly correspond to the positions of grenadier and anti-tank. MACV is mostly the same, but rather has a different handgun, and the addition of a medical kit, which adds the ability to perform as a medic as well as the aforementioned roles.

The opposite layout of the NVA and VC kits offers the same role as one of the two options offered to the US and ARVN kits, although the second layout performs a significantly different role of anti-air combat, wielding the only anti-air infantry weapon in the game.
