The M4A1 Mortar Motor Carriage was a vehicle utilized by Allied forces during World War II. The vehicle was a variant of the M2 Half Track, equipped with 81mm M1 Mortar. The mortar was intended to be fired dismounted from the vehicle, but could be fired in an emergency to the rear from a base inside the vehicle. The A1 modification allowed the weapon to be fixed facing forward and fired from within the vehicle.

"The M4A1 is an Allied mobile spawn point that also serves to transport troops to the front lines. It can resupply the health and ammunition of the occupants, and vehicles within a 10 meter radius. One of the passengers can use a machine gun to fend off air and infantry attacks, while another can operate a rear firing mortar. The velocity of the mortar shot can be controlled by holding down the alternate fire button for varying lengths of time."

The M4A1 is a vehicle featured in Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII. It appears exclusively on Raid on Agheila.

It can position 5 players, one driver, one passenger who wields a M2 Browning, two more passengers and another passenger who controls the Mortar. It is equivalent to the German Munitions Panzer. It also acts as a mobile spawn point, as long as vehicle isn't full and isn't destroyed. The Mortar is very powerful, although it is difficult to aim with it. The main disadvantage of the M4A1 is that the passengers are exposed to gunfire, and vehicle isn't very heavily armored, being easily destroyed by a Panzerschreck or tank cannons.
