Muscle Car is a term used to refer to a variety of high-performnace automobiles, and generally refers to two-door American coupes with large V8 engines.

In Battlefield 2, the Muscle Car is based on the Plymouth Duster 340. In Battlefield Hardline, it is based on the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro and sixth-generation Ford Mustang.

Battlefield 2

The Muscle Car is introduced in the Battlefield 2: Armored Fury expansion. It appears on Midnight Sun on every map size and on the 16-player variant of Operation Road Rage.

The vehicle is similar to an HMMWV, NJ 2046, or GAZ-3937 Vodnik in regards to performance, but it does not have any mounted weapons and has much less armor. The driver or passenger cannot use their weapons either.

Battlefield Hardline

The Muscle Car is a vehicle in Battlefield Hardline. It serves as the Criminal Coupe, being slightly faster and more maneuverable than the Sports Sedan, but can only seat two passengers (One driver, one passenger) compared to the Sedan's four. The passenger is able to either shoot through the windshield or hang out of the side window and fire. It is a direct equivalent to the Law Enforcement Police Interceptor.

Trivia

Battlefield 2

  • The car's license plate reads "2142", which is an easter egg referring to Battlefield 2142, which was under development at that time.

Battlefield Hardline

  • In an earlier development build, the Muscle Car had the model of a Dodge Challenger SRT8, likely borrowed from Need for Speed: Rivals.[1]
