"The MEC forces have made landfall on the Eastern Coast of the United States, and are preparing to push inland. Caught by surprise, the US Marines are deploying nearby, hastily preparing a base of operations to stop the MEC advance. The key objective for both armies is a highway junction in the middle of the battlefield that grants access to nearly every key military target in the area. Whoever controls this overpass controls most of the Eastern Seaboard!"

Operation Road Rage is a map featured in Battlefield 2: Armored Fury. It features a Middle Eastern Coalition surprise attack on an interchange on the United States East Coast where the United States Marine Corps must hold the area or risk losing the multiple military bases in the region.

Overview[]

"This is a Conquest: Head-on map. Your team will win if you cause your opponent's tickets to reach zero. You can increase the rate at which they lose tickets by holding at least half of the control points on this map."

— Game Mode Briefing

While combat is carried out mostly by armor, the map's uneven terrain makes it necessary to maneuver the tanks carefully. As with other Armored Fury maps, the 16-player version is different in singleplayer and in multiplayer.

Except for singleplayer, all of the sizes are Head-on maps.

When a Vehicle Drop is called, the USMC will receive a DPV and the MEC will receive a FAV.

32- and 64-player versions[]

The 32- and 64-player versions have identical control point layouts but different vehicle layouts.

These versions take place in the full area of the map, with control points located near the central vertical axis. Aerial combat is predominant, as both factions have access to ground-attack aircraft, and both stationary anti-air emplacements and mobile anti-air vehicles are available at almost every control point.

The default number of tickets is 200 for each team on the 32-player version, and 300 per team on the 64-player version.

Farm House[]

The USMC's uncapturable main base in the far north, hosting two artillery pieces, the UAV trailer and radar station.

On the 64-player version, it spawns two Stingers, three DPVs, an M1A2, a Linebacker, one MD530 and two A10.

Trivia[]

  • On the bridge, there is a billboard advertising an electronic watch, titled "Watch For The Future", the time shown is 21:42, an obvious reference to the then-upcoming Battlefield 2142.
  • The map was seen in the release trailer of Battlefield Play4Free but was never added to the game.[1]
