The SIG P226 is a Swiss semi-automatic pistol made by J.P. Sauer und Sohn GmbH in Germany and by SIG Sauer Inc. in the United States. It primarily fires the 9×19mm Parabellum round from box magazines. The sidearm can also be chambered in .40 S&W, .357 SIG, or .22 LR. It was designed for entry into the XM9 Service Pistol Trials, which were held by the United States Army in 1984 to find a replacement for the aged M1911.

Although the M9 was instead adopted for the US military, the P226 is the service sidearm of the US Navy SEALs. The P226, as well as several other members of the P220 family, are also used as service handguns in law enforcement around the world. The P226R incorporates a small rail for attachments like Laser sights and Tactical lights.

The P226 appears in four entries in the Battlefield series, modeled after the P226R variant.
