The RPG-2 (Russian: Ручной противотанковый гранатомёт 2 Routchnoy Protivotankovy Granatomiot 2,

English: Hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher 2) was a Soviet rocket launcher designed in 1949, and was the precursor to the RPG-7. It was known for its relative efficiency, its low production cost, and its simplicity to operate; however being quite inaccurate and having a short range. It fired a 82mm PG-2 high explosive warhead with an effective range of about 100 meters.

In Battlefield Vietnam, the RPG-2 is issued to the Viet Cong Heavy Assault kit. It comes with 5 rockets, one loaded and four spare. If used proficiently, it can destroy an enemy MBT in 2-5 rockets, depending on where the rocket hits the vehicle. APCs will be destroyed in about 2-3 shots, and light vehicles require just one direct hit. Against infantry, it doesn't perform as well as other rocket launchers, as the rockets kill radius is somewhat smaller. It's projectile also travels in a more angled arc than other rocket launchers, meaning that firing at longer ranges is more difficult.
