For the lighter variant, see SCAR-L.

The SOF Combat Assault Rifle-Heavy, or SCAR-H, is a modular, modern battle rifle made by FN Herstal. The SCAR-H differs from the SCAR-L in that it is classified as an adaptive battle rifle rather than an assault rifle, and utilizes a smaller, 20-round box magazine over the lighter version's 30 round STANAG, aswell as the larger 7.62x51mm round, and longer barrel.

Sound(s)

The SCAR-H appears in Battlefield 2: Special Forces as the standard weapon for the United States Navy SEALs Assault Kit. The SCAR-H comes with standard frag grenades, instead of a 40mm under-barrel grenade launcher. The SCAR-H appears to have higher accuracy and higher damage than any other assault rifles except the Chinese AK-47 and MEC AK-101.

BF3 SCAR-H
"Developed for the US SOCOM the SCAR is a modular series of weapons available in multiple interchangeable calibers, barrel lengths, and configurations. This particular model has been configured as a SCAR-H CQB (SCAR-Heavy Close Quarters Battle) with a shortened barrel and chambered for the hard hitting 7.62mm NATO round. This gives the SCAR-H a greater range than typical Carbines at the expensive of some serious recoil."
— Battelog description

The SCAR-H returns in Battlefield 3, as the SCAR-H CQB variant.

SingleplayerEdit

The SCAR-H is the starting weapons in Operation Guillotine, it is also found in the mission Kaffarov once the player enters the building.

MultiplayerEdit

It is classified as a carbine and is issued to the Engineer kit as the third unlockable item.

The SCAR-H has moderately high damage and an average rate of fire, offset by its high amount of recoil, which becomes a real problem at a distance. Therefore, burst firing is strongly recommended. The SCAR-H performs much like a PDW in CQB, where the weapon will be able to kill multiple enemies in a choke point. Its ironsights are partially obstructed, therefore it is recommended the player either hipfires or attaches an optic. When equipped with an optic, a bipod/foregrip to reduce recoil and a suppressor, the SCAR-H will be an extremely flexible weapon that will be able to challenge assault rifles at medium range.
