A Technical is a type of improvised fighting vehicle, typically a civilian or military non-combat vehicle, modified to provide an offensive capability. It is usually an open-backed civilian pickup truck (Toyota Hilux being by far most popular) or four-wheel drive vehicle mounting a machine gun, light anti-aircraft gun, a recoilless rifle, or even a helicopter rocket pod or a multiple launch rocket system.

The Technical is a vehicle featured in the Battlefield 2: Special Forces expansion. Based on a grey 1980's Toyota Hilux pickup truck. It is used by all factions in the expansion pack. The Technical is fast, but comes at the cost of armor, as it is very easy to destroy one, taking as few as one rocket or mine to destroy one. Each Technical is equipped with a RPK-74, which is located on the dashboard, and a M2 Browning on the bed of the truck. The Technical is the equivalent of the HMMWV and AIL Raider.
Technicals are featured in Battlefield 1.
Several Technicals utilized by PLR forces in Operation Swordbreaker and Night Shift missions. The vehicle is also seen outside the map boundaries of Night Shift next to the mall complex where Faruk Al-Bashir is found, and can be driven back into the map's boundaries and then utilized by the player.
Three Technicals are seen in the mission Fire from the Sky, assaulting Warrior 2-1.
