GREAT NEWS Battlefield Wiki. DICE has finally announced in a blog post that the Open Beta for Battlefield 1 will be available for everyone on August 31st, 2016.
You can gain early access to it by signing up for Battlefield Insider, however. To do this, follow this link and sign up and join. Afterwards, select your preferred platform and you'll recieve an early access beta code sometime next week.
This must be done before August 21st so be quick about it. DICE has not stated exactly how much early you'll get into the beta through its expected to be three days meaning you could potentially gain access on August 28th.

Today on February 18, 2016 the Battlefield Wiki will be doing another trial run of the Wikia message wall system. Wikia is looking to improve the system and with the Battlefield Wiki approaching its 10th birthday on February 22nd, this will be a great change.
The main purpose of the test is to generate more discussion between users and page discussions. It should be noted that admins and TUs will be monitoring all talk and moderate and take action against any discussion that is ill intent.

EA has announced today that the next Battlefield will be released in Fiscal year 2017 along with Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Don't fret though Battlefield fans for it was confirmed to release in the first quarter of Fiscal year 2017, which starts in October 2016. Thats the typical release month of games in the Battlefield series, releasing about 3 years after Battlefield 4.
While we know it confirmed to return to the military setting, not much else has been revealed at the moment. DICE has kept a close lid on the game, even refusing to answer fan questions outright on social media sights. Electronic Arts is finally recognizing the importance of E-Sports in the gaming world by launching a new division solely dedicated to the sport.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson announced that executive Peter Moore will be the new Executive Vice
President and Chief Competition Officer of the new Competitive Gaming Division (CGD). Todd Sitrin was also named the Senior Vice President and GM of the divison to better centralize EA's competitive gaming projects.
Some of the titles targeted to introduce E-Sports competitions as apart of the CGD are FIFA, Madden NFL', and of course Battlefield.
