Looks like over this weekend, GameStop posted the minimum requirements to run Battlefield 3 on the PC. They aren't exactly official yet, according to the source, but at least we all have something to go by for those that are getting the PC version and need to upgrade.

From what it seems, the game cannot run on Windows XP as it does not support DirectX 9. Players will also need to have at minimum, a dual-core processor, up to 15 GB of free space on a hard drive, 2 GB of RAM, and a video card that supports DirectX 10 and/or 11.

It is likely that DICE has been running far better gaming computers, as the minimum requirements would likely have all of the video settings on lowest and the resolution likely 1024x768. If EA or DICE can confirm this, it will be updated to reflect any changes.

Minimum
  • Hard Drive Space: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
  • OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz, RAM 2GB
  • Video Card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card
Recommended
  • Hard Drive Space: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU, RAM 4GB
  • Video Card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon HD 6850
