Medal of Honor Warfighter Trailer unveils Battlefield 4, but is it too soon?

You may be asking yourself why you're watching a Medal of Honor: Warfighter trailer on Battlefield Wiki, the place for everything any anything about the Battlefield Series, but this trailer unveils something new for Battlefield. It unveils Battlefield 4's existence.
Technically, we've known about Battlefield 4 since Frank Guibeau, President of EA Labels, semi-revealed it during a keynote at the University of Southern California, days after rival FPS Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released. But it's now been confirmed by DICE on a sub-page of the main Battlefield website as well as by Danger Close studios in the video above.
I'm all for another Battlefield game, but I can't stop thinking if it's too soon for a direct sequel to Battlefield 3. We all know its been six years between the release of Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 3, but during that time we got some great spin-off titles such as Battlefield 2142, and DICE's delving into the console scene with Battlefield 2: Modern Combat and the Bad Company games.
The thing that scares me is that EA might make the same mistakes that Activision has made with now almost three of their series. Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk's Pro-Skater have all but been dried up by yearly and practically quarterly releases by Activision, with some agreeing that even the juggernaut on the FPS market that is Call of Duty may fall as well. I'd hate for EA to do the same thing, but with them alternating yearly releases of Medal of Honor and Battlefield, these two great series may already be on that route.
And that's something I would hate to see. I get EA's a business and they want to make money and all, but its just too soon to be thinking about Battlefield 4 when we still have to get through all of the Premium content for Battlefield 3. It'd be great to see later on if Battlefield 4 becomes Bad Company 3 or even Battlefield 2143 (the only game so far to not get the Frostbite engine treatment in the series), but one can only hope.
Sound off in the comments about all this Battlefield 4 stuff. Is it too soon? Will Battlefield be the next great series to fall? or will this instead bring the genre to a new era?
