Well, looking back at the blog entry on the Battlefield Blog announcing the Battlefield 3 beta to be included in the Medal of Honor (2010): Limited Edition, the comments were pulsating with outrage from the PC community, claiming that the Battlefield series will "fail" if Battlefield 3 ends up being multiplatform and not a PC exclusive. This is because of the "significant" (not that significant, imo) performance gap between PC systems and consoles, basically saying that Battlefield 3 would not reach its full potential, like Battlefield 2 did in its time, if it were released to consoles as well.
In my opinion, I see this as a huge over-reaction, but being a person that plays the recent Battlefield games on consoles, I'm a bit biased. But I seriously think that a console is capable of far more than most people claim it is. I mean, I wouldn't see it being able to handle Gazala or El Alamein with the current Frostbite Engine, but I don't see the average gamer's PC being able to handle that either. Besides, it doesn't mean that there would be limited fun included in a "console-dumbed" game.
So, what are your opinions on the matter?
