Oh E3...

You're truly one of the highlights of my year. We've had our ups. We've had our downs. But this year, I'm sure you aren't going to fail to impress.

So as pretty much the entire population of the internet know, the 2011 Electronics Entertainments Expo will once again be opening its doors to the media, developers and publishers. Unfortunatly, gone are the days where anyone could work their way in: the event is now strictly invitation only. But thanks to the wonders of the internet, we're able to see every aspect of the entire show through live streaming websites, such as IGN and Machinima. Which really means we're probably going to see more than the people walking around there.

Many people over at the EA Battlefield Forums have been wondering what happened to the sudden explosion of Battlefield 3 hype that occured back in March/April. It's fair to say that DICE have been fairly quiet since, with only Twitter and a few concept 'Back to Karkand' Photos to keep the buzz going. But let's face it... we all just want to see one thing.

Gameplay. Or more specifically, the multiplayer.

Battlefield 3's multiplayer is (hypothetically of course) non-existent to the community at the moment, and at the end of the day, this is the feature that is going to be bringing us all back day after day after day. And not a single hint as to how it's going to play from DICE. We're all just desperate for a reveal.

And E3 is the place where it's going to happen. (Or, where if it doesn't happen, it would be marketing suicide)

Electronic Arts is going to have a fairly large section of the South Hall where they will be, no doubt, be showing off their latest products. Among them? Battlefield 3. (Most likely of course).

So what can we expect to be showcased at this years E3 in regards to Battlefield 3? Multiplayer? Singleplayer? Co-op? Will it be playable? Just more Frostbite 2 trailers? Maybe just another trailer? Have we all been wrong and will there be no BF3 information at all? If so, when do you think we would next see any more footage?

Even so... time to start stocking up the Mountain Dew.
