EA has confirmed that they are transitioning their servers from Gamespy for Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
They did not, however, include Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, and Battlefield: Bad Company in this statement so as far as we know they will be shut down with the servers on May 31, 2014.
