Thank you. This actual cause is as you say surrounding COD information, however I do not believe that the information alone is the spark. Simply mentioning "MW3" will not cause a problem like this. I think because the COD/BF issue that already exists in the bigger picture is a very tense one, people adopt a very serious approach when the issue comes to the fore, even as a joke like the majority of the link you gave me were. Because of this, a misunderstanding has grown and things can fly off the handle much easier because of it. Its like defusing a bomb with a rusty spoon, somethings gonna blow.

I hardly think the word crisis is warranted, it's a fairly minor, if recurring, problem. However, I for one, as you well know, completely disagree with you. I know you're trying to back up your community, but you need to stop being ignorant here. When I'm posting a blog, I'm posting it to inform people. I'm not particularly concerned about the catalytic effect it may or may not have. If your community wants to come onto my blogs and deface it with abusive comments, then blame them. I'm not sitting behind their computers doing it for them. Stop trying to hide the guilt of the community behind a veil of innocence, because that veil is very thin and transparent. Or conversely, use me and oh looky here, "coincidentally" other major CoD wiki editors, as scapegoats for the community's problems.

For the record, don't call me irresponsible, when it's clearly you who's irresponsible here. A responsible admin would delete the abusive comments and not attempt to force the blame onto someone who innocently posted a blog. That's all well and good if you want to try and lose valuable and trusted contributors and harbour "contributors" who know they can abuse blog comments without punishment because hey, they're not to blame even though they're the ones typing out the comments, no, it's the original poster of the blog. Don't you remember me? I was one of the first people to come here from the CoD wiki with the sole intention of improving this place greatly. Maybe that doesn't matter to you any more - considering your inability to even vaguely understand what I said, I'm not particularly convinced it matters to you any more. Never personally did I say that it was any editor's fault for the cause of the hatred and trolling. Never did BP say it was anyone's fault. I just identified the cause of the problem (i.e. several blogs that had caused sparks of trolling and CoD-hatred, etc.), and found that it had originated from quite a few of the blogs that I listed on Doc's talk page. BP just highlighted that, on occasion, your attitude has been contributing to the problems - a TRUSTED USER on the wiki, one that is meant to be responsible, basically fanning the flames of the trolling/hatred. Neither did he make any allegations - I quote from "spurred on by blogs authored by Smuff, N7 and Callofduty4".

We (BP, DocR and myself) are simply indertaking a simple bit of investigative process - that we identify the cause of the problem in question, whilst not making allegations.

The fact however that you call say "it's clearly you who's irresponsible here" insults me. True, I may be rather liberal on the subject of deleting blog comments, but that's what I like to have the community feel - that the administration of the wiki aren't totalitarian, deleting anything that causes them to be a little bit irritated. If that was the case, then the attitude of the wiki would change for the worse. (N.B. I am not calling the CoD wiki a totalitarian wiki. Great, I've been criminalised for blogs I've made on another wiki. Whoop-de-do. I know, I only have 20 something mainspace edits here, so I know you'll think I don't help around that much. Well, what about {{Userpage background}} you copypasted off the CoDWiki? Guess who made the original? And as for this, oh no! A blog about an exploit on google translate, whatever shall we do?!?!? </sarcasm> How about those users you have on this wiki like Peter Griffen Boy which are infamous across wikia? You don't seem to do ANYTHING about users like that, yet behind my back you'll take a shot at me for my editing eithic?

Want to know the true problem? The community here in my honest opinion sucks, they're unruely and they need to be pulled back in. This wiki is the reason I won't so much as touch Battlefield; if I'm going to get crap like this then what should I expect from the rest of the community? When stuff like this is posted on the wiki, we don't go "Ew, an image from another game, KILL IT WITH FIRE!" now, do we? Hell, admins at our wiki prevent commenting on blogs like that to stop the chance of anything like that happening at all. Hell, I banned Butthead4 for flaming about CoD here. Yet at the slightest mention of Call of Duty here, you get anons commenting on wiki matters. That's good for wiki relations, isn't it? If your community is going to butthurt at the slightest mention of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, why should I care? I go around wikia and maintain stuff. I make news blogs. I try and promote discussion. I don't edit this wiki because I refuse to be affiliated the community that serves it, and this is kind of rubbish is the exact reason why.

Making a project proprosal Edit

I don't know how to make a formal project proprosal for the wiki, so could you do it for me?

The idea is, that since the battlelog has a page for each weapon with a discription and other info (eqquipment/attachments have a discription), we should add this discription to each item/weapon/vehciles's infobox.

All the above will be added when we are able to, with info coming from the game as well as Battlelog. That'll most likely be when BF3 is released or when people get the time. Especially considering that the game is possible to change before the release, we may end up having to change the pages after release anyway. One video to demonstrate is far enoght so ok on AN-94 page at the moment, but i want to mention that we have 2 videos on each weapon game article, one in the infobox & demonstration. Most visitors may click the bigger frame so they may prefear click the bigger "Demonstration" then infobox/weapon - frame 640*360px vs 440*248px. We should try to find an smart solution for this. Video WalkthroughsEdit

Hi Pete, I'm currently in the middle of making high quality video walkthroughs for BF3 and was hoping that they may be considered for use in the mainspace. They are full walkthroughs that double as achievement guides with clickable links to skip the intros or to skip right to where the achievements start. I started putting them in the mainspace but was quickly stopped by Pedro who then led me to the Video Policy page (which I didn't know existed :P). I'd obviously rather go through the proper steps now that I know there are rules and was hoping you may help me with that. I've also recently contacted Yuri with the same questions and information. Thanks in advance for your help!

Finally got BF3! (actually got yesterday but wanna share the happiness!). I'll work on the game when I can, but the singleplayer keeps crashing >.< Got to wait until the game is completley ironed to start to work.

Not properly like that, Amazon dispatched on releaase day (Friday) and it arrived to the deliverer Monday. What happened is that they didn't put on the deliverer's checklist (although they updated that they had it 15 minutes before they sent the deliverer -.-) and as Tuesday was national holiday, no mail. Had to wait till Wednesday, but wasn't properly Amazon's fault, more like MRW's....

Clarifying somethingEdit

It's a good idea, and it seems to work fine (I guess you copied the code from one of the other infoboxes? In which case, it definitely ought to work fine). BF3 Ranks Edit

i noticed a user created an article Battlefield 3 Online Ranks when there is already one >Ranks of Battlefield 3. if kept Ranks of Battlefield 3 it should be renamed maybe something like Battlefield 3: Ranks and i would suggest a similar name change for Ribbons and Medals to include the Battlefield 3 title to not to confuse new players to the battlefield series that it suggests they may be viewing Ribbons and Medals of all Battlefield games. (even though not all games have the current structure).

yea its a neat feature to minimize some page lengths (only if needed) one problem using the tabber you can create endless tabs but once you reach the "100%" page width it may not wrap properly and it displays the tabs overlapping below. ie

so you could create tabbers within a tabber using the {{#tag:tabber| tag (wikia help dose not include this (help within a tabber)

if using tabber within a tabber its best to create templates (that hold all images tables ect) for each section as otherwise it is likely not to work but text should be fine.

I don't know how much free time you get from studying for your exams, but when you get a chance (even its its in Feb or Mar) try this map out. Okay, so I'm in a bit of a dilemma regarding the above-mentioned user. He keeps begging for a "second chance". He's currently blocked for 2 months for violating our policies a multitude of time (being generally vulgar, insulting; using sockpuppet accounts; racism; and a number of other things I can't recall ATM.), and he's asking for another chance, and that if he violates policy again we are at leave to permaban him (not like I didn't already contemplate that).
