The XM320 Grenade Launcher is used in both Battlefield: Bad Company, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It is based upon the earlier H&K AG-36, fires 40mm rounds, and can be used in an underbarrel role on the M16 and M4 assault rifles, though in-game it is only ever used on the XM8 Prototype, or as a standalone grenade launcher. It is one of few grenade launchers in the Battlefield series that opens and is loaded from the side rather than the breach or muzzle, the others being the closely related AG-36 and the later version of the same weapon, the M320.
The XM320 is one of the three grenade launchers used on assault rifles. The XM320 attaches to the XM8 Assault Rifle, and has a moderate reload time. The XM320 loads slower than the M203, but faster than the GP-30. They all do the same damage as well as having the same effective range of around 400 meters however.
The XM320 performs identically to the other launchers found ingame and is still only used on the XM8 assault rifle. It can fire standard 40mm grenades, 40mm smoke grenades, and M516 canister rounds, with each performing the same as with the other grenade launchers.
